About Peace Action Maine

Peace Action Maine is a member based and driven state-wide organization. It is the state affiliate of Peace Action, the largest peace and justice organization in the United States.
Since 1982, Peace Action Maine has been a voice in Maine to abolish nuclear weapons, to promote US and global disarmament, and to end war.

Peace Action Maine Vision Statement:

Peace Action Maine is a voice for education and a center for all people committed to disarmament and creative responses to conflict.

Peace Action Maine Mission Statement:

Through our campaigns we:
-Educate about our increasing defense budget and decreasing expenditures for human needs and the connection between corporate globalization and militarism.
-Influence and affect state and federal laws and policy through lobbying, advocacy and direct action.
-Encourage nonviolent resolution to conflict.

Peace Voter Campaign

National Peace Action has developed an analysis of the leading Democratic contenders’ records on peace issues. These profiles are part of our Peace Voter campaign. Through Peace Voter, we work to educate candidates and voters on foreign policy issues, help shape the debate on our issues, and support pro-peace candidates so that they can win at the ballot box.
